LevelMaster Rapid Level 30 is a rapid-setting, protein-free, latex-modified, high-performance cementitious floor levelling compound suitable for thicknesses from 3mm to 50mm (or up to 60mm with added aggregate). To prepare, mix a 20kg bag with 3.6L of clean water, adding the powder gradually while stirring with a slow-speed drill or paddle for approximately 3 minutes until smooth and lump-free. Pour onto the prepared surface and trowel to a smooth finish. Work within 15 minutes, and do not add extra water once the mix begins to set.
Key Points:
- Fast setting – sets in 30 minutes.
- Versatile – suitable for internal and external use, including underfloor heating.
- Flexible & high performance – can be applied up to 50mm in one layer.
- Easy to use – pre-blended, requiring only water, with a low-odour formulation.
Shelf Life & Storage:
LevelMaster Rapid Level 30 has a shelf life of 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored in unopened, original bags. Keep in a dry environment, away from temperature extremes and draughts, at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C. Store off the ground and ensure partially used bags are resealed to maintain product integrity.
Coverage:
One 20kg bag covers approximately 4m² at a 3mm thickness.

LevelMaster RAPID LEVEL 30 is a high-performance underlay designed for levelling common sub-floors before installing floor coverings such as ceramic tiles, carpet, vinyl, and wood flooring (minimum 5mm thickness). It is compatible with underfloor heating and contains powdered latex, removing the need for additional liquid latex. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Suitable Substrates
LevelMaster RAPID LEVEL 30 can be used over:
- Concrete and cement-based substrates.
- Sanded and vacuumed calcium sulphate (gypsum) screeds.
- Properly prepared old ceramic tiles, natural stone, and terrazzo.
- Properly prepared old water-resistant adhesive residues.
- New mastic asphalt screeds (flooring grade IC10, IC15) with a thickness of 3-5mm.
Preparation
Sub-floors should be clean, dry, structurally sound, and free from grease, oil, paint, polish, or any other contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Any adhesive or paint residues must be mechanically removed to expose a sound base. Likewise, all friable areas should be eliminated, and the substrate repaired with a suitable repair compound.
If underfloor heating is present, turn it off 48 hours before commencing work. After completion, switch it back on after 48 hours, gradually increasing the temperature by +5°C per day.
All sub-floors on or below ground level should have an effective damp-proof membrane. For the subsequent laying of flexible floor coverings or timber, the moisture content should be 75% RH or below. If moisture levels exceed 75% RH, a surface damp-proof membrane must be applied—contact Technical Services for further guidance. Before applying primer or RAPID LEVEL 30, vacuum clean the surface thoroughly.
Gypsum and Anhydrite screeds must always be completely dry. Do not use surface damp-proof membranes on gypsum substrates as a method of controlling moisture.
Old ceramic tiles must be thoroughly cleaned, abraded, and free from grease before priming. Old water-soluble adhesives must be completely removed, and the surface primed with a waterproof primer such as PRIMER AND FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE. Old water-resistant adhesives should be mechanically removed as much as possible, ensuring any remaining residue is firmly bonded.
Absorbent surfaces such as concrete and cement should be primed using Bond It PRIMER AND FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE. Note: PVA is not suitable for priming before applying RAPID LEVEL 30. Non-absorbent surfaces such as ceramic, mastic asphalt, and water-resistant adhesive residues should be cleaned and primed with a suitable primer. Bond It EXTERIOR PREGRIT is recommended for this purpose.
Calcium Sulphate/Gypsum screeds must be sanded and vacuumed before priming with two coats of Bond It PRIMER AND FLEXIBLE ADMIXTURE. Allow 24 hours for drying. If LevelMaster RAPID LEVEL 30 is to be applied at thicknesses above 10mm over a gypsum screed, consult Technical Services.
New sanded mastic asphalt should be vacuumed before priming. The recommended layer thickness over mastic asphalt is a maximum of 3-4mm. Wooden floors must be overboarded with 15mm exterior-grade plywood, securely fixed with screws at 300mm centers. Prime as for absorbent surfaces.
Mixing
For every 20Kg bag of LevelMaster RAPID LEVEL 30, use 3.6L of clean water. Slowly add the powder to the water while stirring with a heavy-duty, slow-speed drill or paddle. Continue mixing for approximately 3 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is formed.
Avoid overwatering. The presence of foam while mixing or settling of the sand aggregate during placement indicates excessive water.
Application
Ensure the floor temperature is above +5°C before application. Pour RAPID LEVEL 30 onto the prepared surface and trowel it to a smooth finish. Use a flooring trowel or float to achieve an even surface.
Do not mix more than can be laid within 15 minutes. Never add extra water once the product has started to set.
For layer thicknesses above 3mm, avoid direct contact with vertical surfaces by using an edging strip. Edge, interior, and movement joints in the floor should remain uncovered and appropriately sealed.
Do not use RAPID LEVEL 30 at temperatures below +5°C. The floor will be ready for light foot traffic after approximately 30 minutes.
Limitations
Do not use RAPID LEVEL 30 at temperatures below +5°C or above +30°C. High temperatures may shorten the open time, while cold or humid conditions will slow the drying process.
This product is not designed as a final wearing surface and should not be applied to flexible surfaces.
Cleaning
All tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately with water. Once cured, RAPID LEVEL 30 can only be removed using mechanical methods.
