Mapeproof Swell is a one-component hydrophilic paste designed for repair and waterproofing tasks. It can be applied to damp or uneven surfaces and is effective at any temperature, even when water is infiltrating or seeping through. Upon contact with water, Mapeproof Swell expands in volume and can withstand significant hydrostatic pressure when properly confined. It adheres well to slightly damp surfaces, provided they are clean and stable. This single-component hydro-expansive paste is supplied in cartridges and is specifically formulated to create flexible, waterproof seals in cracked reinforced concrete and prefabricated elements subject to water infiltration.

Mapeproof Swell is specifically designed to create flexible, waterproof seals in cracked reinforced concrete and prefabricated elements where water infiltration occurs.
Application Examples:

Ensure the surface is free from dust, loose debris, and any materials that could compromise the bond of Mapeproof Swell. While the substrate can be damp, there should be no standing water on the surface. Adjust the size of the extruded Mapeproof Swell bead by cutting the nozzle tip to the desired diameter, typically between 6 and 13 mm. Cutting at the first line on the nozzle will achieve this size. A single cartridge can produce approximately 3 meters of this bead. Apply the Mapeproof Swell bead continuously and evenly, as it expands in all directions towards the path of least resistance; thus, it must be confined within a crack or joint to function effectively. This product is not intended for surface-only applications. Allow it to set completely before pouring concrete over it. When applying Mapeproof Swell to steel pipework, ensure all oil and grease residues used for lubrication are removed using ethanol. For sealing cracked concrete, widen the sides of the cracks or construction joints to a depth of at least 6 cm using appropriate mechanical tools. After cleaning out dust and rubble, apply Mapeproof Swell and use a suitable Mapegrout product to limit its boundaries. If water is seeping through, first block the flow with Lamposilex, then apply Mapeproof Swell on both sides, ensuring a boundary of at least 5 cm. Mapeproof Swell comes in 320 ml cartridges. To apply, cut the nozzle tip to the desired bead size and pierce the membrane under the nozzle. Insert the cartridge into an extrusion gun and apply the product directly onto the surface needing sealing.
