ARDEX AF 2575 PLUS is perfect for installing a wide range of floorcoverings, including luxury vinyl tiles and sheet vinyl. It is compatible with all ARDEX Latex and Water-Based Levelling and Smoothing Compounds, making it suitable for both commercial and residential settings. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The subfloor must have an effective damp proof membrane (DPM) and a maximum equilibrium relative humidity of 75%. If the subfloor lacks a DPM or exceeds 75% RH, refer to the ARDEX Moisture Control brochure or contact ARDEX Technical Services for guidance. Ensure the subfloor is hard, dry, clean, and free of barrier materials, meeting BS 8203 and BS 8204 standards. Use a vacuum to remove dust before applying ARDEX AF 2575 PLUS, as dust affects both coverage and adhesive performance. Level any uneven areas with suitable ARDEX Levelling Compounds, such as ARDITEX NA or ARDEX K 39, and use ARDEX ARDURAPID A 45 for repairs up to 50mm thick. For minor imperfections or plywood preparation, apply ARDEX FEATHER FINISH as per the product data sheet. Flooring-grade plywood (SP101) can be installed over timber bases where required. Ensure wood-based substrates are at equilibrium moisture content.
MIXING
ARDEX AF 2575 PLUS is ready to use and requires no mixing.
APPLICATION
Maintain the installation area and subfloor temperatures per floorcovering manufacturer guidelines and BS 8203, ensuring consistent conditions 48 hours before, during, and after installation. Spread ARDEX AF 2575 PLUS evenly with a 60-degree angled serrated trowel, avoiding adhesive pooling. Apply floorcoverings directly into the adhesive on absorbent backgrounds after 5-30 minutes of airing. Only apply adhesive to areas that can be covered within 35 minutes. Ensure full adhesive transfer to the floorcovering’s back, remove air pockets with a cork board, and roll the floor with a 68kg roller for optimal contact. Allow adhesive to dry fully before heat welding, and avoid wet cleaning for 48 hours at 20°C to ensure bond strength. Do not return surplus adhesive to the container; dispose of it separately to avoid contamination.
UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Commission underfloor heating per manufacturer’s instructions or BS 8203 and BS 8204 guidelines, gradually cycling the temperature to prevent subfloor shrinkage. If moisture testing is necessary, turn off heating 48 hours beforehand; if not, stabilize heating to room temperature (minimum 15°C) before installation. Repair and smooth the subfloor with ARDEX products, allow the floorcovering to acclimatize, and after installation, keep a stable temperature for 48 hours to allow adhesive curing. Increase heating gradually to full operating temperature and avoid loading or moving furniture on the floor until the adhesive has set, typically after 48 hours at 20°C.
