EVERBUILD 501 Universal PVA Bond is a versatile, medium-viscosity bonding agent and adhesive, specially formulated for the building industry. Free from harmful phthalates, this vinyl acetate homopolymer enhances adhesion to various substrates, including dense concrete, glass, steel, and tiles. It is ideal as an additive for concrete, plasters, and sand-cement products, offering multiple performance benefits.

Shelf Life and Storage Conditions
EVERBUILD® 501 Universal PVA Bond has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in its original, unopened containers. Ensure containers are tightly sealed to prevent water evaporation and skin formation on the surface. Store the product at a recommended temperature range of 5°C to 25°C. Avoid exposure to freezing temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight, as this may lead to quality degradation or crust formation. While the product demonstrates excellent stability under high temperatures—showing no significant viscosity changes after one week at 50°C—proper storage conditions are essential to maintain performance.

EVERBUILD 501 Universal PVA Bond is a versatile product suitable for various applications, including use as a general-purpose adhesive for wood, cork, paper, textiles, and other porous materials. It serves as an admixture for mortar, screeds, and renders, as well as a bonding agent for screeds and renders on challenging substrates. Additionally, it functions as a primer or sealer in tiling applications and can be mixed with wood shavings or plaster to create an effective internal filler.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease before application.
Priming and Sealing
For porous substrates such as old concrete, plaster, or plasterboard, dilute EVERBUILD® 501 Universal PVA Bond with 4 parts water to 1 part emulsion. Apply this mixture to seal the surface in preparation for further coating.
Bonding
EVERBUILD® 501 Universal PVA Bond is ideal for bonding plaster and cementitious renders or repair compounds:
- Plaster Bonding: Use undiluted emulsion, brushing it onto the surface to be plastered. Apply fresh plaster before the emulsion dries. The bond strength meets BS5270 standards for plaster bonded to glass.
- Cementitious Renders/Repair Compounds:
- Small Areas: Mix equal parts of EVERBUILD® 501 Universal PVA Bond and water, then add to the mortar or concrete mix. This improves adhesion and flexural strength of the cured concrete.
- Larger Areas: Dilute the emulsion in a 3:1 ratio (emulsion:water) and brush onto the surface. Apply a concrete mix before the emulsion dries.
Woodworking
EVERBUILD® 501 Universal PVA Bond provides strong wood bonding, similar to conventional adhesives. Use the emulsion neat for woodworking applications. Laboratory tests have shown wood failure in joints bonded with this product, indicating excellent bond strength. However, like other PVA adhesives, it is not suitable for load-bearing applications.
