RUBBER COAT is designed for application on stationary surfaces such as concrete, masonry, metal, and wood. It is ideal for interior use on concrete, masonry, tile, wood, and drywall. This versatile product offers a wide range of residential and commercial solutions, including applications on ICFs, car washes, RVs, shower liners, containment areas, balconies, flashings, curbs, skylights, flat roofs, foundation walls, gutters, vents, ponds, and more.
Application Tools:
RUBBER COAT can be applied using a roller, paintbrush, or hydraulic piston sprayer.
Surface Preparation:
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, stable, and free from spalling, efflorescence, dust, dirt, oils, surface flaking, poorly bonded or glossy paint, sealers, salts, and other contaminants that may impact adhesion and performance.
- New Concrete: Allow a minimum of 30 days curing time before applying RUBBER COAT.
- New Masonry Surfaces: Cure for at least 48 hours prior to application.
- Exterior Surfaces: Power wash with at least 1500 psi to remove surface contaminants.
- Interior Concrete Surfaces: Scrub with trisodium phosphate (TSP).
- Wood Floor Surfaces: Vacuum thoroughly and wipe clean.
Mixing:
Generally, the product does not require stirring before application.
RUBBER COAT Application:
Ambient temperatures should be between 5ºC and 35ºC during application and for 24 hours afterward. Avoid hot, direct sunlight and do not apply over coal tar or solvent-based adhesives.
Cure Time:
At 25°C and 50% humidity, RUBBER COAT cures fully in 24-48 hours. Cure time increases with thicker coats, colder temperatures, or higher humidity, so environmental conditions should be considered.
Clean-Up:
Clean tools with soap and water before the product cures. Baby oil can help remove the cured product from hands.
Common Errors:
- Applying too thick: Can cause cracking or skinning over uncured product.
- Inadequate surface preparation: May lead to adhesion issues.
- Applying over saturated materials: Can cause blisters from trapped water vapors.
- Tip: Apply multiple thinner coats instead of one thick coat to build thickness.
Precautions:
- In case of eye contact, rinse with water and consult a physician.
- Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
- Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children.
- Keep the container closed and away from unprotected food items.
- Store away from freezing. Dispose of unused material according to local guidelines.
