Rain Mate is a highly flexible, water-repellent, general-purpose sealant with excellent adhesion to all surfaces, including damp ones. It is suitable for use on brick, concrete, stone, metals, painted or bare wood, glass, vinyl, and most plastics. This rubber-based sealant is compatible with bitumen, asphalt, and roofing felt, making it ideal for roof repairs in damp conditions (remove standing water before application). It can also be used to seal doors, windows, roofs, cladding, and vehicle bodies. Rain Mate is weatherproof, sag-resistant, permanently flexible, and can be overpainted with certain paints without cracking or becoming brittle with age.

Bond It RAIN MATE is a water-repellent, UV-resistant, paintable sealant that resists cracking and slumping. It is suitable for use on a wide range of materials, including brick, concrete, stone, metals, painted or bare wood, glass, vinyl, and most plastics. As a rubber-based sealant, it is also compatible with bitumen, asphalt, and roofing felt, making it ideal for roof repairs in damp conditions. While all RAIN MATE colors adhere to these materials, black is recommended to avoid discoloration with white or clear options. Perfect for sealing doors, windows, roofs, cladding, and vehicle bodies.
Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease or contaminants that could affect adhesion. Primers are generally not required. Remove rust or any loose material to achieve a sound surface.
Application: In damp conditions, remove standing water and residual dirt, and dry the surface as much as possible with cloths or paper towels before applying the sealant. Apply the sealant normally, ensuring enough material is used to accommodate future joint movement (25% of the sealant width). Use the Bond It SEALANT APPLICATOR TOOL for best results. Allow 24 hours before painting. Clean tools immediately after use with Bond It UPVC Solvent Cleaner or White Spirit.
Limitations:
- Not suitable for use on expanded polystyrene, polycarbonate, plastic roof lights, or other solvent-sensitive surfaces.
- Do not apply at temperatures above +60°C or on surfaces exceeding +80°C during use.
