FS4 Fireshield AC is a high-performance, flexible acrylic intumescent acoustic sealant designed to provide a fire-resistant, smoke- and flame-resistant barrier in construction applications. In the event of a fire, it expands to form an inert barrier, offering up to 4 hours of fire protection depending on the joint design and sealant depth. The sealant features non-slumping, rapid skinning properties and is solvent-free, non-shrinking, and permanently flexible. It is suitable for interior use in sealing linear joints, partition walls, plasterboard, suspended ceilings, and for penetration seals involving steel and copper pipes. It can be overpainted within one hour with fire-resistant paint.

Shelf Life: The product has a minimum shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in its original, unopened cartridges.
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry place, between +5ยฐC and +25ยฐC. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.
Coverage: Approximately 10 linear meters per cartridge with a 6mm bead, depending on the condition and porosity of the substrate.

FS4 Fireshield AC is specially designed to create an acoustic and fire-rated intumescent barrier in construction applications. It is ideal for sealing interior linear joints in floors, ceilings, dry lining systems, partition walls, plasterboard, and suspended ceilings. The sealant is also suitable for sealing penetration points where steel and copper pipes pass through plasterboard. Upon exposure to heat, Fireshield AC swells (intumesces) to form an inert barrier against smoke and flames. The fire resistance it provides depends on the joint design, sealant depth, and the substrates being sealed, with fire testing details available upon request. It features non-slumping, rapid skinning properties and can be overpainted within one hour.
Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, stable, and free from dust, oil, or any contaminants that could affect adhesion.
Application
Use a standard sealant gun with the nozzle cut at a 45ยฐ angle, slightly larger than the joint. Apply the sealant evenly, making sure all crevices are filled and achieving full contact with the substrate. Smooth the sealant using a wetted spatula or a SEALANT APPLICATOR TOOL. Any excess can be removed with soapy water before FIRESHIELD AC dries. Avoid application in damp conditions. Wipe away any excess product with a damp cloth.
Limitations
FIRESHIELD AC is not suitable for joints with movement exceeding +/-12.5% of the joint width or for external joints. This product must NOT be used around fire doors.
