ARBOShield Pro Class A Air & Vapour Control Layer is a key component of the ARBO FS range, designed for light steel frame (SFS) walling applications. It is particularly suitable for high-rise and high-risk buildings, such as schools, hospitals, care homes, and residential blocks, helping to reduce the risk of fire spread. When installed facing a still air, low-emissivity cavity, it enhances thermal performance, improving the building’s overall U-value and energy efficiency.
APPLICATION
ARBOShield Pro Class A Air & Vapour Control Layer (AVCL) should always be installed on the warm side of the wall. Use ARBOShield Pro Class A High Tack Sealing Tape to secure the AVCL around window/door reveals and at joints or corner junctions. Attach the AVCL to the substrate using a suitable fixing method, ensuring joints in the material overlap by at least 100mm. Seal all joints with ARBOShield Pro Class A High Tack Sealing Tape, making sure the material is free of dust for a clean seal. For windows/doors, cut the membrane using a diagonal cutting method, then fold the overlap into the reveal, finishing with sealing tape. Any penetrations for cables or pipes through the AVCL should be sealed with ARBOShield Pro Class A High Tack Sealing Tape to prevent air and moisture leakage.
