This high-performance polyurethane expanding foam is fire-rated and tested to BSEN 1366-4, offering excellent adhesion to most construction materials such as wood, concrete, metal, and PVC. Expanding over 40 times its can volume, it effectively seals irregular gaps while providing high thermal and acoustic insulation. The foam is resistant to temperatures from -40°C to +100°C, ageing, and low curing pressure, though it is not UV-resistant. Suitable for various applications, including window and door frame installation, filling holes, sealing insulation boards, and reducing thermal bridges, it is available in both gun-grade and straw aerosol versions and does not contain CFCs or H-CFCs.

Key Points:

  • High Performance & Fire Rated: Complies with EN1366‐4 and DIN4102 standards, ensuring safety.
  • Excellent Adhesion & Insulation: Bonds well with most building materials and provides superior thermal and acoustic insulation.
  • Wide Temperature Resistance & Expansion: Functions between -40°C to +100°C and expands over 40 times its can volume.
  • Versatile Applications: Ideal for sealing, filling, and insulating in construction projects.

Shelf Life: 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in the original, unopened container according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Storage Conditions: Store and transport upright in cool, dry conditions between +5°C and +25°C. Higher temperatures may significantly reduce shelf life.

Fresh foam adheres well to most common building materials but will not bond to surfaces such as polyethylene, silicone, oil, grease, or similar substrates.

Areas of Application:

  • Installation of window and door frames and entrance door linings for a clean, controlled backfill.
  • Filling holes and insulating penetrations.
  • Sealing thermal and acoustic insulation boards.
  • Sealing and connecting joints.
  • Reducing the impact of thermal bridges.

Preparation:
Ensure surfaces are firm, clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or contaminants that may hinder adhesion. Moisten surfaces with water before application. All construction components must be properly prepared, and it is recommended to have FOAM CLEANER available. The ideal working temperature for both the can and environment is +20-25°C. If cans are chilled, warm them at room temperature for 20 minutes or in lukewarm water (below +45°C), but do not heat above +30°C to avoid bursting. If cans are too hot, cool them with cold water. Before use, shake the can at least 30 times, attach the adaptor firmly without overtightening, and avoid activating the valve. Wear gloves and eye protection to prevent skin contact.

Application:
From 24 August 2023, adequate training is required for industrial or professional use. Follow the can’s instructions carefully and wear protective gloves and eye protection.

  • Handheld Application: Hold the can upright, screw the applicator (straw) onto the valve, and shake vigorously at least 20 times. Turn the can upside down and press the trigger to apply foam, adjusting the output as needed.
  • Gun Grade Application: Hold the can upright and attach it to the gun by holding the gun handle with one hand and turning the can with the other. Do not point the gun at others while attaching. Avoid overtightening the adaptor or activating the valve. Once attached, turn the can upside down and start applying. The foam output can be adjusted with the gun trigger.

Fresh foam expands 2-2.5 times, so avoid overfilling joints. Remove fresh foam spills immediately with Bond It FOAM CLEANER. Cured foam can only be removed mechanically. Moisture is necessary for proper curing—insufficient moisture or overfilling may cause unwanted post-expansion. Control foam extrusion by adjusting pressure and keeping the valve pointed down. Once opened, use the can within four weeks.

Limitations:
Cured foam is sensitive to UV light and direct sunlight and should be covered with a suitable opaque sealant, filler, paint, or other protective material. Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, neoprene, or bituminous substrates. Do not use in areas with continuous water immersion. The product has been fire resistance tested for joints and penetration seals but is not suitable for fire-resistant sealing around designated fire doors.

Cleaning:
Remove excess foam while still wet using Bond It GUN FOAM CLEANER or Bond It MULTI-WIPES. Once cured, foam can only be removed mechanically.
