Build-Mate is a traditional oil-based, gunable pointing and sealing mastic that’s designed for general exterior building use, offering superior adhesion to most building surfaces, including metal and wood. It remains weatherproof in most conditions, is sag-resistant, and has low toxicity. The mastic is ideal for sealing and bedding window and door frames, maintaining low-rise building joints, seals, and flashing, as well as pointing around precast building materials. It features a self-repairing skin, does not harden under the surface, and can be over-painted with most conventional oil-based paints (compatibility should be tested before full application). Note: Not suitable for use with uPVC.

Build-Mate offers excellent adhesion to most building surfaces and can be overpainted with conventional oil-based paints once fully cured. It is weatherproof in most applications and suitable for sealing and bedding window and door frames made of metal or wood. Additionally, Bond It BUILDING MASTIC is ideal for maintaining low-rise building joints, seals, flashing, and pointing around precast building materials.
Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, sound, and free from dust, oil, loose particles, or any contaminants that could affect adhesion. Use polythene tape or foam backing in movement joints.
Application
Apply using a standard sealant gun. Carefully cut the cartridge tip without damaging the screw thread. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle to create an opening slightly larger than the gap to be sealed, then attach it to the cartridge. Fully fill the joint with mastic, ensuring strong contact with both sides. Smooth the material using a wetted spatula, spoon, or SEALANT APPLICATOR TOOL. Clean tools with Bond It WHITE SPIRIT.
Limitations
Not suitable for use on bitumen or asphalt or in joints where movement exceeds 5% of the mastic area.
