This all-purpose, contractor-grade primer, sealer, and bonding agent dries quickly to provide high bond strength. It can be used on plaster, cement, timber, gypsum wallboards, and paper, and serves as an effective adhesive with fast drying properties. Additionally, it is a readily dilutable primer for sealing or enhancing cement and plaster adhesion and curing. With a high solids content, it improves plaster, cement, and concrete mixes and is ideal for internal use, being phthalate-free.

CONTRACTORS PVA is suitable for use with plaster, cement, timber, gypsum wallboards, and paper. It acts as a fast-drying adhesive and can be easily diluted for use as a primer in sealing applications or mixed with cement and plaster to enhance adhesion and curing.

Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or contaminants that may affect adhesion. Remove loose materials and ensure the underlying structure is strong enough to support the applied load.
Application
- As a Primer: Suitable for renderings, bonding new plaster to old plaster, porous brick, stone, floor tiles, and new plasterboard. Dilute 1 part CG PVA with 2 parts water and apply with a brush, ensuring it works into gaps and crevices. Allow it to dry before proceeding.
- As a Key Coat & Bonding Aid: For new plaster, concrete repairs, cement screeds, and renders, apply a diluted coat as above, then apply a second undiluted coat of CG PVA while still tacky before applying topping. For ceramic tiles and painted surfaces, use undiluted CG PVA and apply plaster while still tacky, or use an alternative method with Bond It PREGRIT and a slurry mix of cement and sand.
- As an Adhesive: Apply to one side and bring the surfaces together within 3-5 minutes, applying moderate pressure with clamps or weights.
- As an Admixture: For cement, mix 1 part CG PVA with 1 part gauging water to enhance workability and adhesion. For plaster, mix 1 part CG PVA with 2.5 parts gauging water.
Limitations
- Do not use in areas with constant water immersion or permanent dampness.
- Avoid use on uncured cement or surfaces with temperatures below +5°C.
