EVO-STIK GRIPFILL Solvent-Free is a high-strength, multipurpose adhesive designed for bonding a wide range of building materials, including wood, plasterboard, stone, metal, bricks, ceramics, and concrete. Its solvent-free formula makes it ideal for use in public spaces such as hospitals, schools, and offices, where solvent-based adhesives may not be suitable. EVO-STIK Gripfill Solvent Free is a high-strength, white gap-filling adhesive designed for interior use in decorating, refurbishment, building, and DIY applications. It provides an instant grab, securing materials in place while allowing for adjustments, though heavy objects may require temporary support. Its gap-filling properties enable bonding on uneven surfaces, and it is especially suitable for solvent-sensitive materials like expanded polystyrene and foamed PVCs. Ideal for bonding wood, plasterboard, MDF, ceramics, metal, brick, and most plastics (with at least one porous surface), it is perfect for fixing mouldings, skirting boards, decorative panels, shelves, window frames, and worktops. Easy to use, it can be wiped away before drying, dries white, and can be sanded or overpainted.
Preparation & Application
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose material. Very porous materials like plaster and fibre cement board should be primed with a diluted PVA primer (1:5 with water) and allowed to dry before applying EVO-STIK Gripfill Solvent Free.
To apply, cut the plastic tube above the thread, attach the nozzle, and cut at an angle to achieve the desired bead size. Insert into a cartridge gun and apply in a continuous zig-zag bead for long items like skirting boards. For larger areas, apply adhesive around the perimeter and at 30cm intervals. Press materials firmly into place for a strong bond. Heavier items like coving may need temporary support until the adhesive cures, while lighter mouldings typically hold without extra support. For wall panels, apply adhesive around the edges and at 450–600mm intervals, then slide into place while pressing firmly. Adjustments must be made within five minutes.
EVO-STIK Gripfill Solvent Free forms a surface skin quickly, so materials should be bonded immediately after extrusion. Excess adhesive can be wiped away with a damp cloth before drying. Allow 24 hours for a full cure.
Cleaning & Precautions
Clean tools while the adhesive is wet by scraping off excess and wiping with a damp cloth and soapy water. When used externally, it must be protected from moisture with a suitable silicone sealant. It is not recommended for mirrors due to potential reactions with mirror backing and should not come into contact with bitumen.
