Cromar AlphaChem Mortar Mix is a high-quality 2-component mixture, consisting of 2 parts Ordinary Portland cement and 1 part fine red building sand. When combined, these components create an ideal mix for brick laying, pointing, patching, rendering, and general repairs, offering excellent workability without the need for additional additives. As part of the AlphaChem Small Bag range, it is perfect for smaller projects, reducing wastage and ensuring freshness thanks to its plastic-sealed packaging.

Mortar mix is the ideal mix for bricklaying, pointing, patching, rendering, and general repairs, offering excellent workability without the need for extra additives.

 

 

Application

  • Thoroughly mix the contents of the bag (cement and sand) on a board or in a bucket using a trowel. Once well-mixed, gradually add water and continue mixing until you achieve the desired smooth consistency for your specific job.
  • Avoid making the mix too wet; it should be moist enough to slip off a shovel but still hold its shape when a hollow is made in the mixture.
  • If you wish to color the mortar, add dye before mixing the ingredients.
  • It is the user’s responsibility to dispose of all packaging properly.

Limitations

  • Do not use in freezing conditions.
  • Avoid use in extreme heat (above 30°C).
  • In dry conditions, dampen the background and cover the finished work with damp sacking or polythene to prevent premature drying, which can weaken the mortar and cause crumbling. Once the mix begins to set, it cannot be re-mixed without compromising its strength.
  • The user is responsible for ensuring the product’s suitability for the intended use.
