Cromasol is a high-quality, alcohol-based, solar reflective coating designed to provide lasting protection against UV degradation and solar gain when applied to a variety of roofing substrates. Ready to use and not requiring dilution, it is primarily manufactured for Mastic Asphalt but is also suitable for BS747 Roofing Felts, fully cured bituminous liquid roof coatings, and remedial roof repair applications. Cromasol does not attack bituminous substrates, preventing the softening of asphalt and leaching into the drying film. The product is ideal for roofs prone to ponding, as it can withstand complete immersion in water for extended periods. Once applied, it is fully water-resistant, even in rain before the film has cured, and is available in both white and grey.

Key Points:

  1. Alcohol-based, solar reflective coating for lasting protection against UV degradation.
  2. Ready to use and suitable for Mastic Asphalt, BS747 Roofing Felts, and bituminous liquid coatings.
  3. Prevents softening of asphalt and leaching, ensuring durability on bituminous substrates.
  4. Water-resistant even in rain before curing, ideal for roofs prone to ponding.

Coverage Rates: Coverage depends on the surface type. On smooth surfaces, a typical coverage is up to 6m² per litre per coat. For rough or uneven surfaces, coverage will be lower. Extreme fluctuations in external temperatures may also affect coverage rates.

Shelf Life: 12 months

Storage Conditions: Cromasol should be stored in a dry area, away from direct sunlight and sources of ignition. Keep the temperature between 8°C and 25°C. Ensure that part-used containers are tightly re-sealed to maintain product integrity.

Cromasol is ideal for roofs prone to ponding, as Cromasol can withstand prolonged immersion in water. Once applied, it becomes fully water-resistant, unlike water-based reflective paints, and remains effective even if rain occurs before the film has cured.

Application Instructions:
Before applying Cromasol, ensure the surface is dry and both the surface and the product are at ambient temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Apply Cromasol as a final coat after the roof has been properly prepared.

Thoroughly mix the contents of the containers before use to avoid an uneven appearance, and continue mixing regularly during application. Apply two coats of Cromasol using a roller or airless sprayer, allowing the first coat to dry overnight before applying the second.

For even coverage, try to apply the second coat at right angles to the first. Cromasol can also be applied by brush, but extra care is required to avoid heavier or uneven applications.

To ensure long-lasting performance, it is recommended to re-coat every 5 to 7 years, depending on the environmental conditions.
