Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive is ideal for bonding roofing felts to metal, timber, concrete, and asphalt, as well as for lap cement and bonding chippings to flat roofs.
Surface Preparation:
Ensure all surfaces are free from oil, dirt, dust, and loose debris. Remove any algae or fungus growth with a stiff brush and treat the surface with a fungicide to eliminate remaining spores and prevent regrowth.
Application:
Apply Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive using a stiff brush, mop, or squeegee. To prevent thickening in cold weather, store the adhesive in a warm room overnight before use. Apply the adhesive to the surface and leave it for 15 to 30 minutes (depending on drying conditions) to develop full thickness. Place the roofing felt into the wet adhesive film, ensuring maximum contact by rubbing or rolling each section to expel trapped air. Whenever possible, unroll the felt directly into the adhesive and roll it with a light roller (15-25kg). Overlaps should be at least 75mm on the sides and 150mm at the ends. For a complete bond at the laps, apply and compact Cromar Roofing Felt Adhesive to the underside of the felt. For timber structures, nail down the first layer of felt, then bond subsequent layers with the adhesive. For porous concrete surfaces, prime the surface first and allow the primer to dry completely before applying the first layer of felt. After 24 hours, check all bondings, especially the laps, to ensure full adhesion.
