SikaCeram-621 FlowFix is designed for use with porcelain or ceramic paving, offering a simple and fast application process, making it ideal for large-scale areas. It is suitable for joints between 3-10 mm wide and at least 15 mm deep.
Substrate Quality & Pre-Treatment
For optimal results, it is recommended to use SikaCeram-62 Flowfix Bonding Primer to adhere the tiles to the bedding mortar. The tiled area must be fully set, stable, and secure, with a sound, clean, and dust-free substrate. Prior to application, ensure the substrate is free from weeds, dirt, and organic growth. The joints should be clear of any debris and between 3-10 mm wide with a depth of at least 15 mm. Pre-wet the tiles, ensuring there is no standing water.
Mixing
Mix the contents of the bag with clean water using a drill and spiral action mixer, always adding powder to water. Mix for about 3 minutes until a smooth, lump-free, flowable mortar is achieved. Avoid overmixing or creating excessive air bubbles, and do not mix more than can be used within 20 minutes.
Application
Pour SikaCeram-621 FlowFix Jointing Compound into the joints immediately after mixing. Use a squeegee to spread the compound across the tiled area, ensuring all joints are filled. Add more product as needed. Allow the product to harden before cleaning, which typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on site conditions.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean excess product from the tiled surface with a sponge float and fresh water. For stubborn areas, scrub with a stiff brush, then rinse once the mortar begins to cure. Avoid brushing over the joints. Once the mortar has set, use a dry soft cloth to polish the surface and remove any final residues, ensuring no product remains on the tiles.
