Sikafloor-245 Level Deep Fill Ultra is a 1-part, cement-based smoothing and resurfacing compound designed for levelling very uneven floors and screeds up to 50 mm deep in a single coat. Ideal for use before laying ceramic tiles, thermoplastic tiles, lino, wood block flooring, or carpet, this compound provides a free-flowing, trowelable mix when mixed as directed. It offers extremely low shrinkage, is trafficable in just 4 hours, and can be overlaid after only 4 hours. Suitable for both internal and external use, it has a pot life of 40 minutes and can fill up to 60 mm in a single application.

Sikafloor-245 Level Deep Fill Ultra is ideal for levelling very uneven floors before laying ceramic and thermoplastic tiles, lino, wood block flooring, or carpet. It can be used to cover sand/cement screeds, quarry tiles, terrazzo, and existing asphalt or tiling. Additionally, it is suitable for underfloor heating applications beneath heating cables/pipes or on top of heated screeds, and can be used for both internal and external projects.
APPLICATION
Substrate Quality / Pre-Treatment
- Concrete/Screed: The surface should be at least 28 days old, dry, clean, structurally sound, and have an effective damp proof membrane. Ensure the surface is free from adhesives, damp proof membranes, oil, grease, wax, loose paint, dust, laitance, or any other materials that could reduce adhesion.
- Switch off underfloor heating 24 hours before and 24 hours after application.
Priming
- Normal Absorbent Concrete/Screed: No priming is typically required. Damp down the floor with clean water (without leaving puddles) and allow it to surface dry. If water is absorbed immediately, treat as a porous surface.
- Porous Concrete/Screed: Seal the surface with SikaBond® PVA+ (1 part PVA to 4 parts water), ensuring it’s well coated, and allow it to dry. For external use, replace SikaBond® PVA+ with SikaBond® SBR+. Multiple coats may be required for highly porous surfaces.
- Non-Porous/Dense Substrates (e.g., Quarry/Ceramic Tiles, Terrazzo, Smooth Concrete): Mechanically roughen the surface by grinding or scarifying. Alternatively, apply undiluted SikaBond® PVA+ and allow it to become tacky before applying the leveling compound. Use SikaBond® SBR+ for external applications.
Mixing
- Unfilled (3 mm to 50 mm thick): Slowly add 25 kg of Sikafloor®-245 Level Deep Fill Ultra to 4.5 L of clean water. Mix using a mechanical mixer with a spiral mixing paddle at a slow speed until fully mixed and smooth.
- Filled (10 mm to 60 mm thick): Add 1 part clean, dry aggregate to 1 part Sikafloor®-245 Level Deep Fill Ultra after mixing the powder with water. Reduce the amount of water before adding sand, then top up to achieve the correct consistency. Be aware that adding sand will affect flow characteristics.
- If the product starts to stiffen or set, do not attempt to remix or add extra water.
Application
- Sikafloor®-245 Level Deep Fill Ultra can be applied from 3 mm to a maximum of 50 mm (60 mm when filled). Pour the mixed product onto the floor and spread evenly with a steel trowel to form a thin, tight scrape coat within the working time.
- Immediately add more mixed product to achieve the desired thickness, and trowel marks should flow out to leave a smooth finish. If needed, use a spiked roller within the working time for a more uniform surface appearance.
Cleaning of Tools
- Clean tools immediately with water after use. Wash hands thoroughly after handling the product.
Limitations
- Not suitable for use over anhydrite screeds.
- Always ensure substrate conditions are appropriate for the intended covering before applying.
- Not suitable as a final wearing surface.
