Sika Wintermix is a chloride-free liquid admixture that improves the workability, frost resistance, and durability of mortar and concrete in sub-zero temperatures. It acts as an accelerator, enhancing freeze/thaw resistance down to -8°C while eliminating the need for a separate frostproofer. Non-corrosive to embedded metal, it also reduces bleeding, shrinkage, and segregation, ensuring better alignment and easier troweling. Additionally, it replaces lime in the mix, minimizing the risk of lime bloom and efflorescence, and allows for faster finishing times even in cold weather.

Shelf Life: is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Sika Wintermix is an air-entraining, water-reducing admixture that serves as an accelerator and frostproofer for brick and block laying mortar, render (both internal and external), and concrete. It is suitable for load-bearing brickwork, block laying, rendering, pointing/repointing, and floor screeds.
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation:
All materials must be free from ice, and the mix temperature should be at least +4°C before placement. After placing, concrete must be covered until it reaches minimum strength or until temperatures rise above freezing. Avoid using weak mixes in cold weather.
Application:
Add 1.25 to 2.5 L per 25 kg of cement, depending on the desired level of plasticizing and acceleration. Reduce the water content accordingly. Alternatively, add directly to the mixing drum along with the water.
Limitations:
- Cover concrete after placement until it gains sufficient strength.
- Avoid weak mixes in cold weather.
- Do not overdose or use with high alumina cement.
- Do not mix with other additives in the same gauging water.
- As an air-entraining product, it is not suitable for structural concrete.
