ARDEX ST is a high-performance, neutral-cure silicone sealant designed to prevent discoloration in porous materials, making it ideal for various finishes, including moisture-sensitive natural stones. With antifungal properties, ARDEX ST inhibits mold growth and resists UV exposure, as well as commonly used cleaners and disinfectants. This elastic sealant allows for movement of up to 20% of the applied width and is easy to apply and smooth. Available in Transparent and 13 colors matching popular ARDEX-FLEX grout shades, it is suitable for internal and external movement joints in bathrooms, showers, and living areas. ARDEX ST adheres well to a range of surfaces, including tiles, glass, wood, and anodized aluminum, but should not be used in permanently submerged areas, like swimming pools, or on substrates like bitumen, Teflon, or EPDM. For use with natural stone, protect tile surfaces from sealant contact to avoid discoloration, and for wet areas, use ARDEX WPC Waterproof Coating as additional moisture protection.

Storage and Shelf Life: ARDEX ST can be stored for up to 15 months in dry conditions, provided it remains in its original, sealed packaging.

ARDEX ST is ideal for sealing movement, corner, and connecting joints in both interior and exterior areas, including bathrooms, showers, and living spaces. It bonds effectively with most surface finishes, including natural stone, as well as glazed and unglazed tiles, enamel, glass, acrylic, anodized aluminum, plastics, laminated work surfaces, solvent-free acrylic varnishes, and wood. When applying ARDEX ST on natural stone, avoid contact with the tile surface to prevent staining; if contact occurs, remove it immediately without using detergents. Fresh spills can be cleaned with a thinner, while cured sealant requires mechanical removal. For moisture-sensitive backgrounds in wet areas, apply ARDEX WPC Waterproof Coating under tile grout for added protection, as ARDEX ST prevents water penetration but is not suitable for fully submerged areas, like pools. Do not use ARDEX ST on substrates like bitumen, EPDM, polyethylene, or Teflon, as it does not adhere well to these materials and may cause discoloration on some surfaces. Mask off natural stone or porous surfaces to avoid sealant infiltration that could lead to discoloration. While ARDEX ST works for corner and edge joints on floors, it is not suited for high-load applications, cannot be painted over, and should be tested first on painted or plastic surfaces. Cut the tip of the cartridge just above the threaded section. Attach the nozzle and trim it at an angle to achieve the desired application thickness. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun and apply the sealant firmly into the joint, ensuring it adheres well to the backing and completely covers all edges without creating air pockets. Before the silicone begins to skin over (approximately 5 minutes), smooth the surface with an appropriate tool and remove any masking tape. ARDEX ST should be applied when the substrate temperature is between 5°C and 40°C. Opened cartridges can be stored for several days if the nozzle is sealed with a suitable cap. Be sure to remove any dried silicone from the nozzle before reusing it.
