ARDEX WPM 200 is a highly versatile product that is suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be effectively used in plant rooms, providing essential moisture protection in critical environments. Additionally, it is ideal for areas under raised access floors and ground floor slabs, ensuring durability and waterproofing where needed. Its robust formulation makes it perfect for workshops, marine protection applications, and sewage processing areas, where resilience against moisture is crucial. Furthermore, ARDEX WPM 200 is an excellent choice for swimming pool surrounds and shower areas, delivering reliable water and vapor barriers in wet environments.

Surface Preparation

Before applying ARDEX WPM 200, it is essential to ensure that all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and free of any contaminants. This includes removing dust, dirt, grease, oil, and any other substances that could interfere with adhesion. Proper preparation is crucial to achieving optimal bonding and performance, so take the time to inspect the surfaces and, if necessary, utilize suitable cleaning methods or mechanical preparation equipment to achieve a pristine surface.

Application

Once the surfaces are adequately prepared, proceed to apply ARDEX WPM 200 evenly across the desired area. It is important to use consistent pressure and technique during application to ensure a uniform layer. If a slip-resistant finish is required for the area, you can scatter sand over the wet layer of ARDEX WPM 200. This step will enhance the surface’s grip, making it safer for foot traffic while still providing the waterproofing benefits of the product.

Waterproof Key for Tiling

For projects that involve tiling or rendering, the sand-scattered prepared layer of ARDEX WPM 200 acts as an effective waterproof key. This layer creates a strong, moisture-resistant foundation that enhances the adhesion of tiles or render, ensuring long-lasting results in areas exposed to water. By utilizing this method, you can achieve a reliable and durable surface that withstands the challenges of wet environments.
