ARDITEX NA is a high-performance, self-smoothing, protein-free latex levelling compound known for its superior flow, excellent adhesion, flexibility, and moisture resistance. Designed for versatility, ARDITEX NA can be confidently applied over a wide range of subfloors without the need for priming. This includes surfaces such as ceramic tiles, bitumen, and flooring-grade plywood. Its rapid-setting properties allow for the installation of resilient floor coverings as soon as 4 hours after application, and ceramic tiles can be laid in as little as 3 hours. ARDITEX NA is perfect for leveling uneven internal subfloors, providing a smooth, even surface on common substrates including concrete, cement/sand screeds, prepared terrazzo, flooring-grade asphalt, quarry tiles, internal steel floors, ARDEX Damp Proof Membranes, porcelain tiles, and flooring-grade plywood. It is also suitable for use in low-odor environments and can encapsulate under-tile heating cables or mats on concrete, screeds, or tile backing boards before tiling. The compound can be applied from a feather edge up to 12mm thick in a single layer, or up to 30mm when mixed with ARDEX Coarse Aggregate. However, ARDITEX NA should not be used over rubber, linoleum, cork, or moisture-sensitive floor coverings.

Key Points:

  1. Wide Application Range: ARDITEX NA can be applied without priming over various subfloors including ceramic tiles, bitumen, and flooring-grade plywood, making it highly versatile.
  2. Fast Setting: The compound allows for the installation of resilient floor coverings in just 4 hours and ceramic tiles in as little as 3 hours after application.
  3. Smooth and Flexible: It effectively levels uneven internal subfloors and provides a smooth surface on a variety of substrates, including concrete, cement/sand screeds, and terrazzo.
  4. Thickness and Aggregates: ARDITEX NA can be applied from a feather edge up to 12mm thick in a single application, or up to 30mm when incorporating ARDEX Coarse Aggregate.

Coverage: One unit of ARDITEX NA will cover approximately 5m² at a thickness of 3mm. This coverage estimate assumes a flat, level surface. For surfaces that are rough or uneven, additional material may be required. Note: Due to the excellent flow and extended wet edge time of ARDITEX NA, thinner applications are feasible and can significantly enhance coverage.

ARDITEX NA is designed to level uneven internal subfloors, creating a smooth, even surface. It can be applied over a wide range of common substrates including concrete, cement/sand screeds, prepared terrazzo, flooring-grade asphalt, quarry tiles, internal steel floors, ARDEX Damp Proof Membranes, porcelain tiles, and flooring-grade plywood. This product is particularly well-suited for environments where low-odor solutions are preferred. Additionally, ARDITEX NA is effective for encapsulating under-tile heating cables or mats on concrete, screeds, or tile backing boards before installing ceramic floor tiles. It can be applied in thicknesses ranging from a feather edge up to 12mm in a single layer, or up to 30mm when mixed with ARDEX Coarse Aggregate. Note: ARDITEX NA should not be used over rubber, linoleum, cork, or moisture-sensitive floor coverings.

Surface Preparation

Before applying ARDITEX NA, ensure that the subfloor is sound and completely free of dust, plaster droppings, grease, paint, polish, and any materials that can soften with water or are loosely adhered. Check any remaining adhesive residues to confirm they are not water-softenable and that they are hard, sound, and have adequate cohesive strength to support the levelling compound. On absorbent surfaces, dampen the area with water to minimize suction and pinholes, ensuring no standing water remains before applying ARDITEX NA. For mixes with high aggregate content or where a subsequent layer is needed, the dried ARDITEX NA may require damping down or priming. Use ARDEX P 51 diluted at a ratio of 1:3 with water for priming. Apply ARDEX P 51 with a broom or brush—avoid using a roller—and allow it to dry completely before applying ARDITEX NA. If the subfloor is damp, such as underneath a structural damp proof membrane (DPM), damp down with water before applying the smoothing layer. For moisture-sensitive floor coverings, ensure the floor is dry with less than 75% Relative Humidity (RH) as per BS 8203 standards and protected by a functional structural DPM before installing the final floor covering. In cases of rising damp or residual construction moisture, particularly with moisture readings up to 98% RH or if a structural DPM is missing, apply a suitable surface DPM like ARDEX DPM 1 C or ARDEX DPM 1 C R on top of the hardened ARDITEX NA. Alternatively, for moisture readings up to 95% RH where a functioning structural DPM is present, ARDEX MVS 95 can be used to suppress residual moisture.

Application

Pour the mixed ARDITEX NA onto the prepared floor surface and spread it to the desired thickness using a trowel or ARDEX Pin Leveller in a single operation. Apply the compound at floor temperatures above 5°C. To enhance the surface and performance, use a spiked roller while the mortar is still wet.
