This fire-resistant neutral cure silicone is specifically designed to protect engineered movement joints in buildings, ensuring the integrity of fire walls when breached by pipes, conduits, and other elements. It conforms to EN1366-3 (penetration seals) and EN1366-4 (linear joints), offering an impressive fire resistance of over 4 hours for certain joint geometries. Halogen-free, it reduces the risks of toxic fumes and corrosion during a fire, while its versatile formulation allows use on a range of materials, including concrete, metals, timber, glass, ceramics, and plastics. This silicone also offers the additional benefits of sealing, waterproofing, and minimal shrinkage.

Key Points:

  • Provides over 4 hours of fire resistance for penetration and linear joints.
  • Halogen-free to reduce toxic fumes and corrosion in case of fire.
  • Suitable for a wide range of materials, including concrete, metals, and plastics.
  • Offers sealing, waterproofing, and primerless adhesion with minimal shrinkage.

Shelf Life: The product has a minimum shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored in its original, unopened cartridges.

Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry place with temperatures between +5°C and +25°C. Keep away from frost and direct sunlight.

Coverage: Depending on the substrate condition and porosity, approximately 8.5 linear meters can be covered with a 6mm bead per cartridge.

LN11 is designed to maintain the integrity of fire walls when breached by conduits, pipes, and other penetrations, as well as sealing panels, door frames, partitions, and cap beading for protective fire glazing. It provides a flexible, low modulus seal capable of withstanding movements of over 25% across a wide temperature range. This product prevents the spread of flame, smoke, toxic gases, and water, and is halogen-free to minimize the risk of toxic fumes and corrosion in the event of a fire. It offers excellent adhesion to a variety of common building materials such as concrete, cement, metals, timber, glass, ceramics, and plastics, with high movement capabilities. In addition, it resists water, dilute acids, alkalis, soap, and household detergents, offering all the benefits of a silicone rubber sealant, including sealing and waterproofing.

Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, or any contaminants that may hinder adhesion. For optimum adhesion, prime porous surfaces and metals other than stainless steel or anodized aluminum.

Application
Apply the sealant using a standard sealant gun with the nozzle cut at a 45° angle. Ensure the opening is slightly larger than the joint to be sealed. Use the appropriate backing material to set the depth of the seal. Gun in the sealant, avoiding air entrapment and ensuring full contact between the sealant and substrate, especially in any crevices. Tool the sealant using a wetted spatula or SEALANT APPLICATOR TOOL. When movement is expected, proper joint geometry is essential to maintain a fire break. A full fire test report is available upon request. Clean tools and excess material using Bond It WHITE SPIRIT or MULTI-WIPES before curing.

Limitations
This product is not suitable for use on bitumen or asphalt surfaces. Overpainting is not recommended. Certain solvents may soften and swell the cured silicone if in prolonged contact.
