Cromar Black Bitumen Paint is a solvent-based, general-purpose paint designed for waterproofing and weatherproofing various surfaces such as steelwork, asphalt, wood, and concrete. Once dry, it forms an odourless, taint-free, waterproof, weatherproof, and corrosion-resistant bitumen film. The coating is highly durable, resistant to low concentrations of alkalis and acids, and can withstand prolonged oxidation. Suitable for a wide range of surfaces including metal, concrete, stone, and brick, it is commonly used for protecting exterior metalwork like fire escapes, ladders, and gutters, as well as providing a protective layer for concrete structures, brickwork, and sand/cement surfaces.

Storage Life and Conditions: The product has an indefinite storage life when kept in undamaged, tightly sealed containers. Black Bitumen paint is ideal for application on a wide range of surfaces, including steel, iron, lead, zinc, aluminium, concrete, stone, and brick. Its primary uses include protecting exterior metalwork such as fire escapes, ladders, and gutters, as well as providing a durable protective coating for concrete structures, stone, brick, concrete screeds, and sand/cement surfaces.
Method of Application:
Apply the Black Bituminous Paint evenly using either a brush or airless spray, ensuring there is no pooling of the product. A minimum of two coats is recommended for optimal protection.
Application Instructions:
Before application, ensure all surfaces are clean and free from oil, dirt, dust, and loose debris. For metal surfaces, remove any loose rust with a wire brush, and treat areas showing advanced corrosion with a rust inhibitor. Apply the first coat and allow it to dry before applying the second. On porous surfaces, apply a primer coat before the Black Bituminous Paint.
Cleaning Tools:
Clean tools with White Spirit. Any minor spillages should be wiped off surfaces before the compound sets. For larger spills, mop up immediately with an inert, absorbent material such as sand, and dispose of it in accordance with regulations.
