Data Sheets
Everbuild Aquaseal Waterproof Tanking Membrane is a ready-to-use, non-hazardous, and solvent-free liquid waterproofing compound that creates a permanently flexible and watertight membrane for floors and walls in wet areas like showers, wet rooms, balconies, and partially covered external spaces. It is applied as a two-coat system by brush, dries quickly, and allows tiling to commence after just 12 hours. Suitable for a wide range of common building substrates, including plasterboard, MDF, plywood, concrete, and wet room boards, it can be used alone or as part of the Aquaseal Wet Room System with complementary products like Tanking Primer, Tanking Tape, and Tanking Drain Mat, ensuring complete waterproofing for conventional plaster and timber-based boards.
Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Storage Conditions: Store in a cool, dry environment between +5°C and +25°C. Storage outside these temperatures will significantly shorten the shelf life. Protect the product from frost.

Everbuild Aquaseal Waterproof Tanking Membrane is ideal for showers, wet rooms, and bathroom wet zones, Aquaseal serves as a reliable tanking membrane within the Aquaseal Wet Room System. It provides a waterproof barrier on most common building surfaces and is suitable for balconies and partially covered external areas.
Substrate Quality:
Ensure all surfaces are clean, sound, and free of dust.
Application Method/Tools:
Prime porous and semi-porous surfaces using Aquaseal Tanking Primer or a suitable SBR Bonding Agent (e.g., Everbuild® 503 SBR Bond diluted with four parts water). Allow the primer to dry for one hour before applying the membrane. Apply the membrane with a brush (minimum 75mm/3″ wide) in two coats, ensuring full coverage by applying the coats in opposite directions (e.g., horizontal first, then vertical). Let the first coat dry for at least six hours before applying the second coat. Pay particular attention to edges and corners, as these are potential weak points for leaks.
For enhanced protection, use Aquaseal® Tanking Tape on corners and board joints before applying the membrane, as it ensures watertight integrity and accommodates movement. Apply Aquaseal Tanking Drain Mat around drain outlets to address the most leak-prone area. Once the second coat is dry, the system should have a minimum thickness of 1mm. Allow up to 12 hours of drying time before tiling.
Limitations:
- Do not apply below 10°C.
- Avoid external application if rain is expected within six hours.
- Ensure the first coat is completely dry before applying the second.
- Drying times may increase in damp or humid conditions.
