EVERBUILD Shed & Fence Mate is a user-friendly, water-based treatment designed to offer a safe and effective alternative to creosote without its associated hazards. It provides a durable, water-repellent finish for all rough sawn timber, making it ideal for sheds, fences, gates, hutches, kennels, cold frames, and trellises. Formulated with UV-resistant pigments and special water-repellent waxes, it ensures long-lasting color—up to six times longer than creosote. Additionally, it can be applied over weathered creosote that is no longer water-repellent.

Substrate Quality & Pre-Treatment
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, loose material, moss, or algae. For best results, treat affected areas with EVERBUILD FUNGICIDAL WASH and use a wire brush for heavily contaminated surfaces.
Application
- Stir thoroughly before use.
- Apply evenly with a brush, ensuring full coverage.
- One coat is usually sufficient, but highly porous or bare timbers may require two or three coats for optimal color depth. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next.
- Drying time varies between 2-6 hours, depending on temperature.
- Do not apply if the temperature is below 5°C.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean brushes, spills, and equipment immediately with warm, soapy water.
Limitations
- Use only as directed and store in the original container.
- Suitable only for rough sawn timber, not planed wood.
- Can be applied over existing creosote or protective coatings, provided they are sufficiently weathered (non-water repellent).
- Do not apply if rain is expected within 6 hours (at 20°C).
- Always store containers upright and secure during storage and transit.
- Dispose of product and packaging responsibly—do not allow to enter watercourses.
- Users should assess suitability for their specific application. If unsure, consult the Technical Services Department for guidance.
