Hodgson Sealants Firestrip 30 is ideal for securing both insulating and non-insulating glass in timber fire doors and softwood or hardwood timber screens using hardwood beads, utilizing the Hodgson FG2 Glazing System.

APPLICATION
Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly clean, dry, and devoid of frost, grease, or loose particles.
Application: Establish a secure set of glazing beads to serve as a rebate if the opening lacks one. Position pins or screws at a 45° angle. Apply Firestrip 30 along the rebate upstand at the top by running the edge of the backing paper along the rebate platform, ensuring the strip aligns with the sightline. For larger rebates, it may be necessary to lift the paper above the platform to ensure Firestrip 30 aligns with the sightline.
Repeat this process for the sides and bottom rebate. Remove the backing paper, ensuring corner joints butt against each other without overlapping. Set setting blocks in position. Align the glass centrally within the frame on the setting blocks. Apply firm pressure around the glass’s edge to ensure it makes contact with the surface of Firestrip 30.
Apply Firestrip 30 to the glass in a manner similar to the application on the upstands, either by running the edge of the paper along the rebate platform or directly onto the beads. Remove the backing paper. Press the beads against Firestrip 30, ensuring a solid connection. Secure the beads with pins or screws in accordance with the installation’s design requirements. Position pins or screws at a 45° angle to pass under the glass. Trim any excess Firestrip 30 above the sightline with a sharp knife.
