APPLICATION
Characteristics:
- Recommended application temperature range: +5°C to +40°C
- Cure rate: Typically cures at a rate of around 2 mm in 24 hours at 23°C @ 55% RH. Curing may be slower in lower temperatures and drier conditions.
- Shelf life: The product has a shelf life of 12 months.
- Skinning time: A skin typically forms after approximately 30 minutes at 23°C @ 55% RH.
- Working time: You have approximately 15 minutes to work with the product, depending on environmental conditions.
Usage Guidelines:
- Joint design: Prior to application, please refer to the Technical Information Sheet titled ‘Joint design for cartridge-based products’.
- Surface preparation: Ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from frost, grease, or loose materials. Apply primer if necessary. For an exceptionally neat finish, use masking tape to cover the face edges of the joint, removing it promptly after completing the tooling.
- Cartridge preparation: Remove the tip of the screw thread from the cartridge and attach the nozzle. Adjust the nozzle to the correct diameter for the joint size.
- Application: Use a skeleton or powered gun to apply the sealant into the joint, ensuring good contact with the surfaces. For deeper joints, the use of Backing Rod is crucial to achieve a well-formed joint.
- Tooling: Immediately after applying the sealant, use suitable tools within the product’s working time.
