Adesilex P10 is a brilliant white, cement-based mosaic adhesive designed for interior and exterior wall and floor installations of ceramic, glass, and marble mosaics. It offers no vertical slip and extends open time, ensuring easy application. When mixed with Isolastic, it enhances performance and flexibility, making it suitable for swimming pools and resin-backed glass. Developed by MAPEI’s research laboratories, Adesilex P10 is a fine white powder that, when mixed with water or Isolastic, becomes a creamy, easy-to-work mortar with excellent adhesion and thixotropic properties, allowing vertical applications without slumping.
Key Points:
White mosaic adhesive ideal for ceramic, glass, and marble mosaics.
Can be mixed with Isolastic for improved flexibility and pool use.
No vertical slip, allowing installation on vertical surfaces without slumping.
Extended open time and adjustability for easier installation.

Adesilex P10 is designed for interior and exterior floor and wall bonding of both normal and heavy-weight mesh-backed or paper-faced glass, ceramic, and marble mosaics.
Examples of application include:
Bonding ceramic, glass, and marble mosaics on cementitious renders, from top to bottom.
Installing mosaics on uneven surfaces without tile slippage.
Bonding mosaics to gypsum board panels.
When mixed with Isolastic (diluted 1:1 with water), Adesilex P10 can be used for:
Bonding mosaics in swimming pools on renders or waterproofed substrates.
Installing mosaics on existing ceramic tiles indoors.
Bonding small ceramic tiles to renders in swimming pools.
Preparing the Substrate
The substrate must be cured, solid, free of loose parts, grease, oils, paint, wax, and sufficiently dry. Cementitious substrates should not shrink after tile installation. In warm weather, renders should cure for at least one week per centimetre of thickness, and cementitious screeds for at least 28 days, unless MAPEI binders like Mapecem, Topcem, or their ready-to-use versions are applied. If surfaces are too warm or exposed to direct sunlight, dampen them with water to cool. Gypsum and anhydrite substrates must be dry, hard, and dust-free, treated with Primer G or Eco Prim T. For high-humidity areas, Primer S is recommended. Refer to MAPEI technical documentation for additional substrate preparation guidelines.
Preparing the Mix
While stirring, add Adesilex P10 to about 34% by weight of clean water (8.5 litres per 25 kg of powder) and mix with a low-speed mixer until smooth and lump-free. Let the mixture rest for 5-10 minutes, then briefly re-mix before use. The prepared mix has a pot life of approximately 8 hours.
Applying the Mix
To ensure good adhesion, first spread a thin layer of Adesilex P10 on the substrate using the straight edge of a trowel. Then apply the adhesive with a notched trowel appropriate to the tile size, ensuring full coverage of the tile’s back. For uneven or deeply ribbed tiles, use the back-buttering technique to apply adhesive to the tile itself.
Installing the Tiles
There’s no need to wet the tiles unless they have very dusty backs, in which case a quick dip in clean water is recommended. Install tiles or mosaics from top to bottom with firm pressure to ensure full coverage. In normal conditions, the open time is 20-30 minutes, though high temperatures or wind can reduce this. Check frequently to ensure the adhesive remains fresh. If a skin forms, re-spread the adhesive with a trowel. Avoid adding water, as this forms an anti-adhesive film. Adjust tiles within 30 minutes; after this, adjustments become difficult. Protect installations from rain, direct sunlight, and frost for 5-7 days. Floors and walls must not be washed or exposed to rain for 24 hours.
