Eco Prim T Plus is an all-purpose primer designed for interior use to enhance the adhesion of levelling compounds on both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces.
Application Examples:
Prepares cementitious and gypsum-based subfloors prior to the application of MAPEI levelling products.
Prepares surfaces with remnants of cement-based adhesives or old smoothing compounds before further smoothing or applying cementitious adhesives.
Suitable for use on gypsum, anhydrite, wood, marine plywood, chipboard, terrazzo, ceramic, or natural stone surfaces before smoothing or applying cementitious adhesives.
Acts as a bonding aid for cementitious smoothing compounds applied over substrates treated with Mapeproof ESM, Mapeproof One Coat, or Mapeproof 1K Turbo.
Preparation of the Substrate: Before applying, substrates must be uniformly dry, sound, and free from dust, loose particles, cracks, paint, wax, oil, rust, and any traces of gypsum or other materials that could hinder bonding. It is crucial to ensure there is no rising damp; all subfloors should have an effective membrane to prevent this issue.
Applying the Primer: Eco Prim T Plus can be applied using a brush or roller. When applying it to cementitious or anhydrite substrates, it is typically diluted 1:2 with water. On existing ceramic tiles, natural stone, wood, and water-resistant adhesive residues, it should be used undiluted. Once the primer is completely dry, a smoothing compound or mortar can be applied. The drying time will depend on the substrate’s absorbency and the environmental conditions (temperature and humidity), but it is advised not to exceed 24 hours. If used as a bonding aid for cementitious smoothing compounds on substrates treated with Mapeproof ESM, Mapeproof One Coat, or Mapeproof 1K Turbo, Eco Prim T Plus should be applied neat at least 2 hours but no more than 24 hours after applying one of the membranes.
