Fix & Grout Concrete & Timber Floors is a flexible adhesive classified as D2E, formulated from finely graded mineral fillers, additives, and mould-resistant BioBlock Technology. This easy-to-trowel adhesive is suitable for most timber and concrete surfaces and forms a strong bond between tile and substrate as the water evaporates during the setting process. It is designed to withstand normal vibrations found in domestic environments and performs optimally only on rigidly fixed substrates that comply with British Standard installation guidelines. Additionally, when used as a grout, it offers water resistance, making it ideal for floors in kitchens and most domestic bathrooms. Fix & Grout Concrete & Timber Floors hardens without shrinking in joints up to 6 mm; however, due to its non-thixotropic nature, it is not suitable for wall applications.
Key Points:
Flexible Adhesive: Fix & Grout Concrete & Timber Floors is a D2E-classified flexible adhesive that incorporates mould-resistant BioBlock Technology.
Strong Bonding: It creates a robust bond between tile and substrate as water evaporates, making it resistant to normal domestic vibrations.
Water Resistance: When used as grout, it is water-resistant and suitable for kitchen and bathroom floors, hardening without shrinking in joints up to 6 mm.
Application Limitations: It requires a rigid substrate fixed according to British Standard guidelines and is not suitable for wall applications due to its non-thixotropic properties.

Fix & Grout Concrete & Timber Floors is a flexible D2E-classified adhesive made from finely graded mineral fillers, additives, and mould-resistant BioBlock Technology, making it easy to apply on most timber and concrete surfaces. As the water evaporates during the setting process, it forms a strong bond between tile and substrate, allowing it to withstand normal vibrations found in domestic environments. This adhesive performs best on rigidly fixed substrates that meet British Standard installation guidelines. When used as grout, it is water-resistant, making it ideal for floors in kitchens and most domestic bathrooms, and it hardens without shrinking in joints up to 6 mm. However, due to its non-thixotropic nature, it is not suitable for wall applications.
Preparation of the Substrate
Ensure that the substrate is level, firm, dry, and free from contaminants such as paint, polishes, old adhesive residues, grease, laitance, and dust. Remove these contaminants through mechanical means, such as abrasion. When fixing to old concrete or sand-cement screeds, prime with Eco Prim T Plus diluted 1:2 with water or Primer G diluted 1:1 with water. New concrete should cure for a minimum of 6 weeks, while sand-cement screeds should cure for at least 3 weeks. Calcium sulphate screeds must be completely dry; they should be mechanically abraded to eliminate all laitance, and any dust produced should be removed before priming with Eco Prim T Plus diluted 1:2 with water or applying neat Primer G. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for drying times. Once priming is completed, tiling can generally begin after 1-2 hours.
Applying the Product
Thoroughly stir the product prior to application. Use a suitable notched trowel to apply the adhesive, ensuring a solid, continuous layer supports the tiled finish. Spread the adhesive over an area of no more than 1 meter before placing the tiles. The open time of the adhesive is approximately 40 minutes, depending on the porosity and type of substrate as well as the room temperature. Install the selected tile into the fresh adhesive bed using a twisting or sliding motion, ensuring 100% coverage is achieved. Verify coverage by lifting a tile to check. For larger tiles, apply an additional layer of adhesive to the back, ensuring the bed depth does not exceed 3 mm. Clean any residue from the tile surface immediately. Be aware that if a matte or rough-textured tile is used, the Fix & Grout Concrete & Timber Floors may dry within the pores of the tile, making immediate cleaning essential.
