EVERBUILD Lead Mate Patination Oil is specially designed to provide a protective coating for newly installed leadwork, preventing white carbonate staining that can affect lead, tiles, brickwork, and stonework. With just one coat, it ensures a uniform, attractive appearance while supporting the natural ageing process as the lead’s patina forms. It is particularly crucial to treat areas where water flows over the lead onto surrounding surfaces, as this can cause severe staining. The no-spill pack allows for clean and easy application, making it an essential product for maintaining the appearance and longevity of newly installed lead.

Key Points

  1. Protects newly installed leadwork from white carbonate staining on lead, tiles, brickwork, and stonework.
  2. Enhances the initial appearance of lead and aids in its natural ageing process.
  3. Crucial for areas with water flow to prevent severe staining on surrounding surfaces.
  4. Comes in a no-spill pack for clean and easy application.

Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly.

Storage Conditions: Store in cool, dry conditions between +5°C and +30°C with adequate ventilation. Storing outside these conditions will significantly shorten the shelf life.

Everbuild Lead Mate Patination Oil is ideal for newly installed lead, particularly areas exposed to water flow onto surrounding surfaces, as well as all newly fixed leadwork, require proper treatment to prevent staining and ensure durability.

APPLICATION

Substrate Preparation: Always wear gloves and apply in a well-ventilated area. Shake the container thoroughly before use. Ensure surfaces are completely dry prior to application.

Application Method/Tools: Apply the oil evenly with a soft, absorbent cloth, working horizontally from the top and maintaining a wet edge at all times. Avoid circular motions, as this can leave marks on the lead. Only one coat is required. Before clipping, apply to the underside of the lead up to 50 mm from the edge. Treat all areas, including clips, trim, and between laps. It is crucial to apply the oil immediately after installation, at the end of each workday, or before expected rain.

Cleaning Tools: Use white spirit to clean up spills.

LIMITATIONS

Do not allow EVERBUILD® Lead Mate® Patination Oil to come into contact with bitumen or polycarbonate sheets. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area before full application. As product use and materials vary, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure suitability. For further guidance, contact Technical Services.
